Laura E. Bogert, DVM
Dr. Bogert hails from the beautiful state of Virginia, though she has lived and practiced in Southwest Florida since 1990. She attended Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 1986. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech, go Hokies!) in 1990. She owned a local veterinary hospital for 12 years.
Dr. Bogert loves all animals, but her strength lies in the treatment of dogs, cats and ferrets. Her area of interest is dentistry. She has been performing in-depth periodontal assessment and treatment for her entire professional career. She takes pride in her ability to perform difficult extractions, and the administration of appropriate pain management to all her dental patients.
She is currently the proud owner of three terrific dogs, two wonderful cats, one adorable ferret and a 28-year old ball python named Sadie. All of her pets are throw-away, give-away rescues. In the past, she has also played Mama to sheep, goats, guinea hens, an ornery rooster, ducks, Canadian geese and three pot-bellied pigs (obviously, not in Cape Coral).
Dr. Bogert has been blissfully married to Nico, a European-trained chef, since 1981, but she rarely has the opportunity to sample his fare as he is busy running the Monkey Bar and Steakhouse in Cape Coral. Together they share a love of snow-skiing, kayaking, indoor and outdoor cycling and traveling. She also loves to putter in her garden, proudly displaying her butterfly garden to anyone who will look.
She would love the opportunity to make you and your pet happier and healthier!
