Here at Chiquita Animal Hospital, we believe in giving back to the community that supports us!

Mariner High School Veterinary Assisting Program

Every year in the fall we host our (super fun!) Annual Chiquita Dog Wash with students from the Mariner High School Veterinary Assisting Program. All proceeds raised at the dog wash are put into our Kristie Donlon Scholarship and presented to a Mariner senior who wishes to pursue a degree related to Animal Sciences. The scholarship is named in memory of one of our own technicians, Kristie Donlon, who is always in our hearts.

Chiquita Animal Hospital also works with selected students from the Mariner program who have expressed an interest in the veterinary industry and provides them with exposure to various aspects of a veterinary hospital, including client reception, medication management, animal restraint, blood work, kennel management, and surgical and diagnostic procedure observation, amongst other things.

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC)

ARC is Southwest Florida’s largest no kill shelter for adoptions. Every year Dr. Kacoyanis sponsors their Starlight Auction, where all proceeds raised are used to support ARC in helping pets without homes.

Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW)

Chiquita Animal Hospital is a drop off location for CROW. So if you ever find wildlife in need of help, you can bring them to us and we’ll make sure they get safely to CROW!
